HDA has recently completed a downtown vision and plan for the Town of Timberville. The plan was drawn form a community charette late in 2010. The final plan was presented to the community in March. HDA is recommending development in a “Museum Core” area that would include an expanded regional heritage museum, a mixed use building housing the Town Hall, and gateway improvements at the north and south entrances to the downtown district. The plan also looks at economic development strategies that will support future development in the downtown. Architectural plans and a financing strategy utilizing historic tax credits were also developed for a key mixed use building in the center of town. The work was supported by a planning grant to the Town from VHDA.

HDA is a collaboration of experienced community development professionals that was launched in 2006 by Bob Adams after a 30 year career in affordable housing
and community development at the state and federal level. HDA’s focus is creating better communities by:

•Helping design, develop and construct complex housing, commercial and mixed use projects
•Assisting CDCs with business planning and organizational development
•Creating inspiring neighborhood and downtown plans that are based on realistic development strategies
•Building consensus for policy change through advocacy campaigns and policy development
